What do we choose to feel? How are we framing our circumstances?
Picture a purple elephant. Really draw it in your mind. Maybe have a mouse or a grassland or feed it a peanut. Whatever you want. This is evidence that we direct our minds. We can see the elephant as strange for being purple; or maybe we see it as unique for its color. Or, maybe we see it as both strange and unique at the same time. The point is that we control how we frame things in our mind.
Whatever we focus on we attract into our lives. If we picture chocolate all day, and then see it at the store, are we more or less likely to purchase it? Are we more or less likely to go to the store or the chocolate shop?
When something good happens, what do we tell ourselves? Do we allow ourselves to feel success? Do we focus on gratitude or criticism?
If we focus on gratitude, then what could we attract? More things to be grateful for.
It is important to be present with thoughts because we will want to steer our thoughts toward gratitude.
The mind is a muscle. Just like any other muscle, the more we train it, the easier the exercise becomes to perform. Therefore, if we incorporate gratitude into our daily routine, it will become easier to find things to be grateful for in our everyday lives.
As we practice gratitude, our lives will improve naturally. When we choose to feel gratitude for life, then we will attract the positivity we feel into our lives.
