Espoir.

It means hope. My neighbors speak French. Today I heard it for the first time while taking my laundry upstairs after the gym. I've been doing the 5:30 routine, and now I see the potential. There is something special about being up before the rest of the town. When I see people out early in the morning there is a special connection. Like we get it. Whatever it is.

There's a song by that name, Espoir, that gives me ambition. Sets the mood. Primes me for great things. Of course it isn't by accident. I deliberately play it when I want to do something great. Accomplishes one of my favorite phrases: "sets my soul on fire". Most times, I have a song like this: a pick me up. Usually the older ones work, but it's nothing quite like the present one.

I've always felt you could understand someone by their music, especially their favorite songs. Something about your vibration is deeply tied to the sound of music. That's why it is so easy to get along with people who share your taste. You are at some level, the same.

What I have found with this is that people have a wide array of music taste and therefore personality that they are willing to accept in themselves. So it is fairly easy to find overlap. The more of yourself that you accept, the more of yourself you will find in other people. Most people like to follow trends and that is easily represented in the pop culture of music. Largely driven by the youth, who have the most time to explore the artistic disciplines.

Time is so valuable. There's only so much you can do with a day. It is more satisfying to spend time/energy connecting with others, and it makes the world a better place. It's the butterfly effect.

“Listen to the mustn'ts, child. Listen to the don'ts. Listen to the shouldn'ts, the impossibles, the won'ts. Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me... Anything can happen, child. Anything can be.” ― Shel Silverstein

Find where you overlap, and smile at the creative force that controls our natural law and keeps us all together even if we appear separate. Give others hope.
