Tonight we are talking about my favorite place in the whole world, Hendry's Beach. Tonight I met Alan. Alan is retired and spends his nights around sunset flying his kite. The kite is a small heart. Alan is able to make it flip and flutter. It's quite pleasant to watch.

Tonight I was served by Danielle. Danielle, like many other people is a flexible personality. She assumed a different role for each of her tables. It just depended on who the other people were.

How is it being a chameleon? I guess we all know to some extent, but the beauty of life is in releasing other's expectations of yourself and shamelessly cartwheeling your way across the beach.

Tonight, like many other days and nights I was reminded to relate your experience to the other people that you are engaging with. If you make the other person feel like the star of a movie, you've won their affection and adoration.

For example, as I walked, I noticed a couple taking pictures with an awkward outstretched hand attempting to look relaxed. As I approached it was clear to me their were debating how or whether or not to ask for help. So as I got close, I said "Hi! Can I take your picture for you?" They were happy to hear someone ask if they wanted help. In fact, they were lavish in their approbation and praise. Thank you Dale Carnegie.

As I sat later waiting for my meal at the boathouse, I was greeted by them, twice. At first from afar, he waved. Then as they were seated at the restaurant, they happened to pass me by and say hello.

Back to Danielle. She was pleasant. In speaking with an older couple, she was more polite. In speaking with a younger couple, she was more comfortable expressing what I think to be her, but could be someone she has created to connect with people similar in age.

As I walked the beach earlier, I ran into a couple of children skim boarding. I said "That looks fun!" to which he was more than willing to reply, "It is!" God! Youth is blissful! What peace! I am excited to be a child again at 22!
